By the “special powers” vested in me (VICE-CAPTAIN) , over-riding the Baycc Management, I have decided to introduce a new rule with immediate effect. :))
The rule: All Baycc members who did not (and in future do not) show up yesterday in “Baycc only” matches get the punishment of “public flogging / lashes”. The same applies to members who leave the field before the match is over.
Number of lashes: Minimum 5 lashes each if less than or equal to 5 members breaking the rule. Greater than 5 members, each rule breaking member gets the same number of lashes as the total number of members not showing up.
How many did ‘I’ get : All the records (members versus number of lashes) will be maintained on “http://mybaycc. com”.
When: Next Baycc club event.
Way to avoid the lashes: Get a note from home, acknowledging the folly and “He will not be doing this again…” Mind you this will be confirmed, not accepted “as is”.
Any way’s… moving on…
Another great day of Baycc with cricket although gloomy weather (like some of you who said Yes or abstained from voting at all, did not show up)was playing spoilt-sport with us, nevertheless we continued on..
Arrival scene – Some members standing on the side coolly just cracking jokes…
Some making effort to organize, mark the crease.
Anis bhai in particular, was seen very animated and excited with the spray marker while marking the crease.
Atif & Imran bargaining over the team splits..
Others more interested only in batting and bowling on the side.
Members were split in 2 teams unevenly as usual between Atif and Imran. Amazingly Imran was found with a weaker team or was that a perception…
Atif and his team batted first… reaching a total of 76 in 16 overs due to some good running between the wickets in addition to couple of 4’s and 6’s ( thanks to bad bowling mostly)..
While most of the team members were having a ball of a time, cracking jokes, Atif record was stuck on “be serious guys..” .. after every 2 overs Atif would go “be serious guys” …
Imran’s team started very poorly loosing quick wickets early on.
The Man of the hour, Ali (not our ‘DEER’ Manager)… gave a scare to the opposition with some good hits and running between the wickets, pushing the score in the vicinity of winning the match.
As Ali went on a rampage, Atif’s pitch seemed increasing “be serious guys”..
Oddly, during batting, Imran’s other team members who were also fielding could not field properly or complete the catches when their team members were batting . :))
But as we have learnt from past experience, a score of anything above 60, needs contribution of more than 1 batsman and for the same reason Imran’s team was short of 20 runs.
Thanks,
-Parvinder.
